Proposition 100 Receives 80% Support in Poll
PHOENIX, Ariz., Sept. 3, 2008 - A poll of Arizona small business owners released yesterday showed overwhelming support for Proposition 100, the Protect Our Homes Initiative.
The poll conducted by the Arizona office of the Nation Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in late August, indicated that 80% of their respondents would vote yes this November to protect their homes from real estate transfer taxes while only 11% would vote no. The rest were undecided.
"The poll results reflect the positive response we have received across the state since the beginning of our campaign," said campaign chairman Frank Dickens. "It reinforces the importance of protecting Arizonans' property from more taxes, whether you're a homeowner, business owner, or both."
NFIB is the state and nation's leading small business association with offices in Washington D.C. and all 50 state capitals. The organization gives small and independent business owners a voice in shaping public policy issues that affect their business.

A coalition of concerned Arizonans started the Protect Our Homes Initiative, Proposition 100, to proactively guard against the enactment of real estate transfer taxes in our state.
This Initiative will:
- Shield Arizona residents from yet another tax that would only make it harder for people to buy or sell their homes and place an even larger burden on an already slumping housing market.
- Guard against double taxation as governments already collect taxes on people's property based on the property's value.
- Stop the government from imposing real estate transfer taxes which would place a large burden on homeowners who work hard to create equity in their homes only to see it go to the government when they sell or transfer their property.
